LIVA Core... in oil




It sounds like a festive Christmas recipe. Computers can be cooled in oil, we knew about PCs in mineral oil but the crazy folks over at ASCII.jp tried it with regular canola oil. Tasty.

And it works amazingly well. Temps are much better than in the original confined chassis (a good 20°C cooler actually). The non-conductive oil evenly absorbs and distributes the heat, very much like natural convection.
