Applying thermal paste is such a controversial subject, when it shouldn't be. Try the thinnest layer all over the heat spreader and a tiny center drop and you'll be fine. Thermaltake is opting for something new with the TG-30 and TG-50. The thermal compounds come with a honeycomb stencil for an easy - and very pretty - application. The TG-30 offers a thermal conductivity of 4.5 W/m-k for $8.99, while the TG-50 performs up to 8 W/m-k for $11.99.
