EXCLUSIVE: Shuttle DS47 unboxing and overview

We managed to put our hands on Shuttle's DS47 before its official launch at COMPUTEX Taipei! Overall quality is one step above the XS36V. Gone is the plastic case, the DS47 feels heavy and really durable.

We are not going to lie, the two COM ports on the front are a little off-putting, but they can be covered without difficulty. Access to internals is easy, and the Celeron 847 offers "good enough" performance for a family computer or an HTPC (1080p files play flawlessly).

Temperatures range from 35°C at idle to 70°C at full load, and thanks to its passive cooling the DS47 is totally silent.
