Akasa's entry level chassis for the Gemini Lake NUC (Celeron J4005 and Pentium J5005) is now available in the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Austria, Finland, Spain, Japan and Switzerland.
Based on Intel’s Goldmont Plus architecture, the Gemini Lake SoCs offer impressive single thread performance over previous generations (50%+ over Bay Trail), support native HDMI 2.0 output, and feature hardware decoding of 4K HEVC and VP9 video. The Atom is now dangerously close to the much more expensive Core-Y family, and it feels great.
