Compartmentalized mod

When cost is no object: This custom HDPLEX H5 build features 14 heat pipes and keeps the 125W i7-14700K under 65°C. The RTX 4060 Ti GPU, nestled within a dedicated HDPLEX H3 case, boasts exceptional thermals of just 55°C, showcasing once again that superior passive cooling can indeed surpass active cooling performance.

Double the awesome

The legendary Nofan CR-95C used as a CPU cooler and GPU cooler inside a HDPLEX case is totally ridiculous, impractical, and we love it.

Fully passive homelab

"Finally put together my dream homeserver. A fully silent, energy efficient, passively cooled server. Specs are: • I5-13500T • Asus Prime Z790M Plus • 64GB DDR5-5200 • 2x 2TB TG Cardea Zero Z440 VM drives • 1x 480GB Samsung SM863a Bootdrive • 2,5G I226-V NIC • 250W HDplex GaN PSU • HDPlex H3 Case

It works like a charm, CPU, SSDs and Chipset hover around 30-40C (22C ambient). I am really impressed with the capabilites and quality of the case. (which it should I guess, given the price). The server currently runs Proxmox with 8 LXCs and 2 VMs, idling at 10-12W and using up to 35-40W under load. Sometime in the future I would like to add 3x 8TB SSDs for an extensive jellyfin/plex library, but this is out of my (already too high) budget."

My first fanless home server

"This is my first home server for me. I run proxmox on it to virtualize my windows 11 and some linux VMs and dockers for learning purposes. I just like the idea of total silent system, no fan, less noise and less dusk built up over the time. Components: HDplex H3 v3 case, HDplex GAN PSU 250W, Intel Core i5 14500, 64GB RAM, 2x 1 TB Samsung 990 Pro. CPU temp when I run Windows 11 VM with one Ubuntu Server VM is from 45-60 °C"

Redesigned HDPLEX H3 available

Fun fact: The H3 was supposed to be called the HDPLEX Cube but we convinced Larry that H3 was a more logical move, considering the existing H1 and flagship H5 cases. The H3 is now available with a redesigned top panel allowing more convection around the CPU area. The H3 features eight 6mm copper heat pipes and handles Intel and AMD CPUs up to 85W TDP. The 12.5 lbs (5.5kg) aluminum chassis is available for $328

Don't do this

We never thought we would say this, but more heat sinks is not always a good idea. This HDPLEX case features air vents for a good reason. The case itself does not handle all the work, and some internal components (including the motherboard itself) are cooled using natural convection. Adding heat sinks here is actually counterproductive.

HDPLEX H1 as a NUC case

"Want a souped-up fanless case for your music server but don't want to overspend, are willing to roll up your sleeves a bit, but you don't know where to look? It turns out the HDPLEX H1 V3 just might be your end game. I love the look of the HDPLEX H1 V3 case with its rugged and sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Peaking through the metal mesh on top, I can view the copper heat pipes, and with no fan to contend with, it delivers marvelous music, in all its splendor, with an exquisitely low noise floor, verve and style. What's not to love about that?"

Redesigned HDPLEX H1

The latest iteration of HDPLEX's entry-level heat sink case features a new top panel that increases convection right above the CPU mounting system. The 3.5kg 270 x 264 x 63.5mm brushed-aluminum chassis supports mini-ITX, Thin mini-ITX, and more surprisingly NUC motherboards too (a fanless NUC kit is sold separately). The new H1 V3 handles CPUs up to 65W TDP and will be available in the coming weeks.

Passive Radeon RX 6400

"Previously shared my silent HTPC built in an HDPLEX H5. Original version had a GTX 1030, but recently upgraded to a Radeon RX 6400 (mainly for HDMI 2.1 output). Used the HDPLEX passive GPU heatsink system to keep it cool and match with the existing passive CPU cooling."

HDPLEX H5 Alder Lake build

Fully Silent PCs tested the mighty HDPLEX H5 paired with the turbocharged i9-12900K / GeForce GTX 1660 combo, and things went surprisingly well. The slim (yet heavy) HTPC case managed to keep temperatures around 90°C for the CPU and around 88°C for the GPU. We have to admit that the inside of the chassis featuring 16 copper heatpipes looks even more gorgeous than the outside.

The world's smallest ATX PSU

We're partial to Seasonic's power supplies but 600W units - or even 450W units - are overkill for most fanless builds. HDPLEX launches this 250W fully passive PSU using reliable and highly-efficient GaN (Gallium Nitride) components. The compact 170 x 50 x 25mm PSU achieves 94% efficiency at full load and can be synchronized with a second unit for a 500W PSU if needed. The automotive-grade HDPLEX 250W GaN Passive AIO ATX power supply comes with custom cables, and will be available in the coming weeks.

HDPLEX H1 assembly

A closer looks at the entry-level HDPLEX heat sink case paired with the high-powered i9-9900. Building a fanless PC can be tricky but patience is key (don't spare on the thermal paste is our advice). Expensive too, we're talking about a $2,000 machine here. "Overall I love the new fanless and completely silent PC. It did take a couple of days to get used to the complete silence while working after so many years of what seemed like working on a runway."
