MINIX N4000 PC Linux review
Linuxlookup takes a look at the $275 fanless mini PC and things look good from a Linux point of view:
"Powered by an Intel Celeron N4100 processor with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 600, the MINIX NEO G41V-4 hardware profile is fully supported by Linux."
"The G41V-4 comes with 4GB of Samsung DDR4-2400 RAM soldered onto the printed circuit board (PCB) and cannot be swapped or upgraded. Onboard is also an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 (802.11ac dual band) Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 adapter, along with a 2280 M.2 SSD slot (STAT 6.0Gbps) supporting SSDs up to 512GB in capacity."

Third time's a charm for MINIX
MINIX seems to have finally put some thought behind their cooling system. Their latest Celeron N4100 mini PC features 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, Windows 10 and a size-appropriate but most importantly functional heat sink. Nice promo video, too. The MINIX G41V is available for $275.

MINIX NEO G41V-4 unboxing & teardown
"There’s no reason for somebody to open the mini PC since the RAM is soldered (no SODIMM slots like in J50C-4) and the SSD can be installed from the opening on the bottom of the case. But I still did the usual teardown to see how the company designed the mini PC.
The bottom of the board comes with the M.2 socket, Intel 3168NGW wireless module for WiFI 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.2 plus two internal antennas, as well as two of the DDR4 chips soldered on the board. There’s a large heatsink on the top of the board, as well as an RTC battery, a PC speaker, fan header, and another 10-pin header."

The MINIX G41V-4 is available
The latest fanless mini PC from MINIX is now available for $275. For that price you get a passively cooled Celeron N4100, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, and Windows 10 (thankfully, there's a slot for your favorite M.2 SSD). MINIX seems to have finally put some thought behind the cooling system, but the virtually identical ZOTAC CI329 is still $30 cheaper.

MINIX finally gets it
After years of terrible, horrible, no good, very bad passive cooling, MINIX finally gets it and lets its CPU cooler breathe. The NEO G41V-4 is powered by the Celeron N4100 and features a much-need perforated case to provide airflow. Easy access to the M.2 SSD is also a nice touch.
Special thanks to Notebook Italia for sending the pictures.

MINIX NEO Z postponed
The first Intel-based mini PC from MINIX will not be released anytime soon, and is undergoing some hardware changes. More details should be available in November. Our money's on the cooling system. Fanless PCs might not be as easy as just removing the fan.

Inside MINIX NEO Z
Additional pictures confirm a M.2 slot inside the upcoming Braswell mini PC. But when MINIX boasted about metal alloy casing and fanless design, we naturally thought that the chassis doubled as a heat sink. It turns out that the NEO Z features an internal CPU cooler with no air vent for convection. Hard pass.

MINIX teases fanless Braswell mini-PCs
We were unsure if its storage was soldered or not (remember that we don't cover crippled technology. Local storage is a basic right to us). But since our friends over at Notebook Italia confirm an expandable M2 slot, we'll keep an eye on the Braswell-based MINIX NEO Z. It will be available in November in two flavors: Celeron N3150 / 4GB RAM / 128GB SSD (for $250) and Pentium N3700 / 8GB RAM / 128GB SSD (for $350).

$129 x86 MINIX
MINIX is launching a ZBOX Pico twin, featuring an Atom Z3735F, 2GB of DDR3L, 32GB of eMMC storage, a microSD slot, two USB 2.0 ports and the same crippled 10/100 Mbit/s LAN.
The MINIX Neo Z64 comes with Android 4.4.4 but is Windows 8.1 compatible. Could still make a decent HTPC, or appeal to cloud users.
